Our Coffee Trees

  • KONA COFFEE TREES are grown on the slopes of Mauna Loa and Hualalai on the west side of the Big Island. Hawaii is the only place in the United States sustainable for cultivating coffee—and produces some of the best in the world! The volcanic-rich soil on the western side of the Big Island of Hawaii and unique tropical climate are contributing factors in producing these excellent coffee beans. Thanks, Mother Nature!
  • Why is Kona Coffee so special? With only 22-miles devoted to growing Kona coffee, it is considered one of the most sought-after commodities. Our coffees feature flavors that are silky-smooth and mellow with a distinct sweetness and strong aroma. The true balance in the cup is recognizable to coffee connoisseurs the world over.
  • Is all Kona Coffee the same? No. The 22-mile Kona Coffee Belt is diverse in elevation, rainfall and soil acidity. These factors (combined with the care given by each farmer of course!) as well as the varietal will determine quality and flavor.
  • How long does it take for a Kona tree to grow up?  It can take between 3-5 years (depending upon how aggressively the tree is fertilized and watered) to grow a seedling to 'production maturity'.
